The 2024 edition of the show hosts 286 premier galleries from 38 countries and territories. The fair is divided into several exhibition sectors, each with its own focus. Meridians, the show’s trademark sector for monumental artworks, has been reconfigured for its fifth anniversary, and is curated for the first time by Yasmil Raymond. It features 17 large-scale projects by renowned artists from the Americas and beyond, including Alice Aycock, Rachel Feinstein, Roberto Huarcaya, Zhu Jinshi, Portia Munson, José Parlá, Lee ShinJa, and Franz West. Friday, December 6
- 11:30am – 12:15 pm: Artist Sam Spratt and Alex Witkoff (CEO of Witkoff Group), moderated by Tara Harris (Head of Nifty Gateway Studio), will discuss the paradigm shift happening in contemporary art, as artists embrace digital technology – from AI to blockchain – for creative expression. - 1pm – 2pm: Artists Harmony Korine, Paul McCarthy, and Jill Mulleady, will explore worldbuilding in all its forms in a conversation moderated by the artistic director of the Serpentine Galleries, Hans Ulrich Obrist. Learn more and book your seat here.
- 2:30pm – 3:30 pm: Klaus Biesenbach (Director of Neue Nationalgalerie and BERLIN MODERN under construction) and Dr. Mariët Westermann (Director and CEO of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation) will look at the intricacies and possibilities of a shared economy for museum collections. - 4pm – 5pm: Kate Gilbert (Executive Director of the Boston Public Art Triennial) and Dr. Deborah Willis (artist, curator and historian) will discuss how art in the public space has become far more dynamic in its presentation in recent decades, and the role it plays in facing the challenges of our time; moderated by Kimberly Bradley, Art Basel’s Conversation curator. Saturday, December 7
- 11:30am – 12:15pm: Steve Clayton, an art collector and Microsoft’s vice president of communications strategy, will be joined by Pablo Rodríguez-Fraile, an investor and philanthropist, to examine how collectors can leverage technology to build meaningful art collections across mediums. This panel will be moderated by writer, cultural strategist, and consultant Laurie Rojas. Learn more and book your seat here.
- 4:30pm – 5:30pm: Transformation: craft, identity, and materiality in art is a conversation moderated by curator and ARTNOIR co-founder Larry Ossei-Mensah, featuring artists Sagarika Sundaram and Sarah Zapata. Both explore how fiber can reshape contemporary art by transforming it into powerful and immersive artworks at the intersection of textile and architecture. Learn more and book your seat here.
The Art Basel Shop
The third edition of the Art Basel Shop is the largest to date, after successful editions in Basel and Paris earlier this year. Curated by Sarah Andelman, this novel concept store showcases bespoke lifestyle and heritage products, and collectibles by some of today’s most dynamic artists, brands, and publishers.
Highlights include a collaboration with Brazilian artist Paulo Nimer Pjota for the Art Basel Shop’s signature AB by Artist line of products; the introduction of a new AB by Art Basel Heritage line, featuring a variation of the Art Basel logo taken from the cover of the show’s 1994 catalog; and several products designed in collaboration between lifestyle brands and artists such as Kaye Donachie, Sola Olulode, Tyler Hobbs, and Paola Pivi.
The shop is located in three distinct locations across the MBCC’s West Lobby, Grand Ballroom, and East Lobby. This edition also includes a program of book signings, artist meet-and-greets, and activations.

Events program

Renown institutions will welcome visitors for special events: The Margulies Collection at the Warehouse will host a breakfast on Friday, December 6; Locust Projects will present a reception accompanied with a performance on Saturday, December 7; Girls’ Club will have a brunch to celebrate the exhibit ’No Looking Back’ on Saturday, December 7; and The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum FIU will celebrate its 20th annual Breakfast in the Park on Sunday, December 8.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet with artists and personalities from the art world during a series of Meet & Greets and book signing at the Art Basel Shop:
- On Friday, December 6, Brazilian artist Thalita Hamaoui will launch of her limited-edition scarf in collaboration with Parley for the Oceans; For Freedoms: Where Do We Go From Here?, the first monograph by artist-led organization For Freedoms, will be signed; dealer Bill Powers will sign Glissando, his new art memoir chronicling his near twenty years as a gallerist and culture journalist; artist José Parlá will sign his new book; and artist FUTURA 2000 will have an exclusive product launch.
- On Saturday, December 7, Hank Grüner x Market will bring together the Los Angeles-based streetwear brand and the Colombian-born, Stockholm-based artist for a unique, boundary-pushing art show.
- On Sunday, December 8, Anastasia Samoylova will sign her first monograph, FloodZone.
Tribeca Festival returns to Art Basel Miami Beach this December and will have a series of live performances and music with Magdalena Bay and Neggy Gemmy, a dance party, and welcome singer Camila Cabello in a conversation centered around her fourth studio album C, XOXO.

Airbnb experiences
Art Basel and Airbnb have partnered to co-curate a series of exciting experiences allowing locals and travelers to dive head-on into the art world and engage more deeply with Miami. While the tour with Art Basel Miami Beach director Bridget Finn has already sold out, there are other compelling experiences that are also part of the initiative:
- Stefanie Block Reed, Art Basel’s VIP representative for Florida, will host an exclusive tour of emerging art galleries and Superblue Miami on Friday, December 6, from 1pm to 4pm. Book your tour here.

If you’re wondering where to eat, have a drink, shop, and see art, Art Basel Miami Beach director Bridget Finn shared her favorite spots in the city:
- Where to eat: ‘Start with the classic seafood haven Joe’s Stone Crab (11 Washington Avenue); for a late-night bite, head to La Sandwicherie (229 14th Street); and the Design District boasts Contessa (111 NE 41st Street), where elegance meets rich Italian flavors, and Mandolin (4312 NE 2nd Avenue), a charming Mediterranean bistro known for its simple excellence in Greek and Turkish cuisine.’
- Where to drink: ‘Head to Mac’s Club Deuce (222 14th Street)! Opened in 1926, it’s Miami’s oldest bar and a true South Beach institution. Cash only, laid-back, with rustic decor, a pool table, and a jukebox that keeps the vibe just right. Perfect for no frills, late-night drinks and good times.’
- Where to shop: ‘While at the show, be sure to visit the Art Basel Shop, our unique concept store showcasing a selection of bespoke lifestyle products.
