Miami Beach Art Basel 2024 just wrapped up, and what a vibrant celebration it was! Running from December 6 to 8, the event attracted art enthusiasts and locals alike, bringing a pulsating energy to the already lively Miami Beach. This year, attendees were treated not only to an impressive lineup of galleries and artworks but also to unforgettable exhibitions!
The Elephant Exhibition Designed by Shubhra Nayar:
One of the most talked-about installations at this year’s Art Basel was undoubtedly the herd of elephant sculptures that drew crowds with their majestic presence. The exhibit featured 100 life-sized elephant sculptures, each crafted to embody a unique artistic vision, showcasing themes of mythology and wellness. These captivating sculptures not only sparked conversations about art and conservation but also perfectly blended with the vibrant atmosphere of Miami Beach. Visitors eagerly posed with these stunning works, adding a playful touch to the event while promoting important messages about wildlife and environmental stewardship.
Celebratory Parties Throughout the Week:
When it comes to Art Basel, the events aren’t just confined to the art showcased at the Convention Center. The Miami Art Week is renowned for its dazzling parties, and this year did not disappoint. From exclusive VIP openings to festive celebrations on the beach, the nightlife exploded with excitement. Celebrities, art collectors, and socialites mingled at some of the trendiest venues, creating an electrifying atmosphere throughout the city. Each night became a spectacle of creativity, where art and entertainment melded into unforgettable experiences.
I had the opportunity to attend one of the most coveted events during this week: “The Core Foundation”, which took place on the beach, in front of the Soho House. The Core Foundation hosted a successful fundraiser that attracted a star-studded crowd, including Leonardo DiCaprio. The event raised over $1 million to support CORE’s critical initiatives in emergency response and climate change mitigation.
A Showcase of Talented Artists:
Art Basel Miami Beach 2024 welcomed 286 galleries from 28 countries, featuring a mix of established and emerging artists. The inclusion of 34 first-time exhibitors brought a fresh perspective to the fair, enriching visitors’ experiences. South and Central America shone brightly, with a particularly strong representation from Brazil, showcasing its rich artistic heritage.
Many galleries reported significant sales, highlighting the continuing strength of the art market. Noteworthy pieces included works by prominent artists such as David Hammons and Yayoi Kusama, with sales consistently reaching impressive figures. The fair’s director, Bridget Finn, emphasized the dedication and effort that went into creating a show of this scale, ensuring attendees left inspired and enlightened.
As Miami Beach Art Basel 2024 came to a close, it left behind a vivid tapestry of art, culture, and community engagement. The satellite fairs, the side-exhibitions, the vibrant parties and social events added an extra layer of excitement to the week, making it a memorable spectacle for all who attended.
With such rich offerings, Art Basel continues to solidify its position as a premier event in the global art calendar, leaving art lovers eagerly awaiting another year of creativity and inspiration in Miami Beach!

For me, it was definitely the House of Robb, a stunning penthouse at the Faena Hotel. The venue hosted significant discussions featuring industry leaders such as Alan Faena, Mario Carbone, Wheels Up CEO, and Delta’s Dwight James, who explored the connections between art, the food industry, luxury travel, and business innovation. These conversations emphasized the transformative potential of collaboration in enriching customer experiences across the dynamic realms of art and aviation.
